Something for the drivers of double deckers to read.
Omnibuses, a blogger who writes about the bus industry posted a story from last Thursday's Telegraph about a bus in London that hit a tree resulting in one dead pedestrian and 18 injured.
They said in one of the papers that the tree fell on the bus, not the bus hit the tree. I think it would be difficult to move further to the left in London otherwise the bus would have been on the pavement!
we regularly use Deckers and you know when to give a particlar bit of your route special attention (wide berth), it's all down to experience. Anyone who drives something regular will no doubt be aware of obsticals to avoid, the damage to that bus is massive, something definately out of the ordinary

You say that, but the buses infront must have had some hefty knocks. Unless the bus was further over to the left, who knows.

Trees are dangerous, bombers are more dangerous. To think the Exeter "bomber" was on a Stagecoach bus from Plymouth to Exeter - worrying
Personally I couldn't care less (re bomb). The odds of being in such an incident around here are so rare it's not even worth thinking about it.
My odds of dying by being hit by a car are probably many times higher than being involved in an accident as above, or in an explosion.
