The boat arrived in Brixham yesterday and the service starts for a one month trial run on Friday. Fifteen minutes from dock to dock compared with 40 minutes by a number 12. Add £2.00 to the price of the ticket and you get bus travel around the Bay as well. So for £6.00 you can travel one way to Brixham and get the bus back to Torquay which isn't bad compared with £4.50 for a Torbay Dayrider. And 15 minutes isn't really long enough to get sea sick, well not too much anyway.
Not much route learning to do here, just leave the harbour and head a few degrees east of south and don't run into anything.
The boat is in Brixham now, it arrived yesterday.

Have you read the leaflet?
"You can purchase your tickets up to 24hours before departure at the Stagecoach travel shop on Victoria Parade, Torquay." (All normal so far...) "Or from our easy recongisable sales staff on the day at the departure point"
Hrm, So not only are the sales staff recognisable, they're also rather promiscuous. Handy to know...
Yes, it should have been “easily” recognisable sales staff shouldn’t it.
someone did not check it before printing :)
lol
Would you like a change to drive the boat Dave? I would... - Dave
Dave, the trip out last night on the ferry for the Red Arrows was great, and again today with BS and all the local bigwigs. I hope it will work.
Bayfast = fastest way to lose money in the Bay. Do they think the existing ferry operators are all stupid? The would have done it years ago if there was money to be made!
hi Cimba, I would love to drive the boat but would sooner drive a bus.
Dave, about time you reported on the journey experience - or are you afraid of the water?
Sorry but it will be Wednesday before I write about the boat trip as I am in Glasgow for a wedding this weekend.
I used the Cat service several times to get to work and back. Loved it and am now gutted it's gone. It was poorly advertised to the Brixham commuters who go to Torquay on a daily basis for work. That said, it's difficult to get the word out about these sorts of things.
