Down at the Gas Works Park there used to be a round duck pond. It was made from the base of one of the three gas holders that used to stand here (before North Sea gas). It was one of our Christmas traditions, we would go down there and feed the ducks on Christmas eve and then grab a couple of them for Christmas dinner. Not any more because the water has drained away and doesn't seem to becoming back.
Have the council pulled the plug and forgotten to put it back or is it part of a long term plan they haven't told anyone about. I know they have given planning permission for houses to be built on the old gas works site on the other side of the road, Is this a back door expansion plan or just an other cock up?
