No Smoking?

It is against the Law to Smoke in any enclosed public building in England (since July 1st),
but exactly what is meant by enclosed?

"where by the space ahs a roof but the opening in the walls is less than half the total area of the walls" or some guff like that which is totally incomprehensible - so yes that shelter is 'enclosed'!

It may seem strange but the law demand that stickers such as the one you photographed be placed in each shelter whose dimensions make it more than 50% enclosed. Even a shelter with two half-end panels qualifies under this requirement.

Pity the poor Torbay council, the body responsible for policing these shelters for errant smoking passengers.

I haven't noticed squads of council officials going from bus stop to bus stop handing out £50.00 fines yet,I'm not bothered as I can still smoke at the two bus stops I use to get to and from work as neither have end panals.
