Found this on YouTube. It happened in Leeds a few days ago. I have never had any thing like this happen to me, thank goodness. No one was hurt in the making of this video.
You said"No one was hurt in the making of this video." I bloody well hope not! anonymous No. 3, I agree that the ALX400 fire is definately more serious, hope no-one was hurt, pity about the stupid bloke in the comments section saying about what him and his girlfriend did at the back of an Arrica 'Decker.
YouTube said it was poated 3 days ago so I posted it as recent. One foot note was just I got to work this morning one driver was saying to an other driver, "It just went up in flames." For a moment I thought they were talking about a bus. It turned out to be a house on fire.
anonymous, what do you mean that you're glad it was a first bus. what does it matter? the driver and passengers still had to deal with a fire on board. that is such a pathetic attitude.
Year well, youtube may have said it was posted 3 days ago, but its becuase people save copies of vidoes already on there and then upload then as thier own!
It is a shame at what happened at the back of an Arrivca 'Decker, can you imagine taking a small child up their.
"Seems to be a regular problem with Bendi buses." Yeah, but only Merc Citaros (which have now all been fixed), this is a Volvo! "25 went up in flames in London I believe." It was 4.
Weve had a couple of buses in recent years set alight by kids and boy do they go up quickly. I happened to witness a 294 fire as i was in the area on my day off. I would never try to put a bus fire out because of this, just get everyone off safely and run.
We also had a bus catch light in the Limehouse link tunnel when a driver was told to drive with red warning lights on the dash. The tunnel was closed for months for repair. The company then put up notices saying red means stop, but we are now back to driving with red under engineers instructions (the same as before). Just goes to show safety comes second to Lost mileage. The driver was sacked then reinstated after union threatened to ballot as he was only doing as he was told.

Driver rings maintenance to ask advice: "Have you tried turning everything off and waiting a few minutes?"
