Sorry, I left this warning out on a previous post.

Expect Chaos.

From Tuesday 3rd Jan 06 the road between the YMCA and Waterside will be closed for resurfacing. For 4 weeks. Must be laying each piece of tarmac by hand.
As this is the main road to Brixham it will cause delays and diversions. The 12 will divert up the Totnes Road, past the Zoo and turn left onto the ring road at Tweenaway Cross. Then along the ring road to Goodrington Road where it will turn left. Down Goodrington Rd to Dartmouth Road and turn right, back onto normal line of route. The route back will be the reverse of above. This means that the stops at Sands Rd, The Big Tree, Keywest, The YMCA and Waterside will not be serviced by the 12. The 12A will not be affected by the diversion except where there is heavy traffic. Do expect delays due to increased traffic along the ring road and at Tweenaway Cross and the Totnes Road.
Also it is a company rule that buses on diversion do not stop to pick passengers up so if you are waiting for a 12A you can expect the 12's to go sailing past you. Shout at us if it makes you feel better, but it's not our fault.
I have explained this problem to someone at management level and asked that the destination blinds be fixed so they will display, "Sorry, I'm on diversion." but it may not happen in time for Tuesday.

A note at the busstop/shelter where there is a displaying saying diverted buses won't stop would do as well/instead.

A good idea and hopefully the company will put up such notices but the Bus Stops on the Strand in Torquay were recently dug up, cones and red tape were placed around the bus stops and notices put up telling people were to go to catch a bus and people were still waiting at the stop for buses. We had to have employ some one to stand there and tell people that buses would not be stopping and still they waited.
Putting "Sorry on diversion" on the front of the bus is a cheaper option and probably slightly more effective. Also the "On Diversion" display would still be there and could be used for those short notice diversions such as when the sea front is closed.

Just put "not in service" up on the diversion. Or "Private", as that explains why there are still people on the bus

a bus in service can not have "Out of service" or "Private" on the front, it's not allowed. It can have "On Diversion" thought. Unfortunatly we do not have a sign that says "On Diversion." in our destination blinds. I have pointed this out to the Depot Manager and he said hev would look in to the possiblity of getting such a sign added so we can use it. No sign( nice pun) of it yet.
